
Safe & Sound delivers the following direct services in Derby City:
Young people identified as being, or at risk of being, sexually exploited are offered support on a one-to-one or small group basis to raise their awareness of sexual exploitation to help them stay safe. Support is tailored to meet each individual young person's needs.
A structured education package is delivered to young people in schools and other settings to help them avoid becoming victims of child sexual exploitation.
Our outreach team speaks with young people who are out and about in Derby to raise their awareness about sexual exploitation and how to stay safe. The team also works with other organisations to make Derby a safer place for children and young people.
Parents / carers of children and young people who are being, or at risk of being, sexually exploited are offered support to help them understand more about child sexual exploitation and its impact.
Raising awareness of child sexual exploitation and its warning signs amongst practitioners who support children, young people and families in Derby, parents / carers, and the wider community.
Nationally, Safe & Sound:
Advocates for children and young people being, or at risk of being, sexually exploited and works to share good practice, knowledge and expertise.
Encourages practical action across the UK to tackle Child Sexual Exploitation through training and consultancy services provided by our social enterprise subsidiary justWhistle.
